Rogan Corporation Celebrates Manufacturing by Inviting St. Norbert School Students to Learn About Injection Molding and Manufacturing

Northbrook IL – Rogan Corporation welcomed students from nearby St. Norbert School to tour its facility, meet with Rogan staff and molding specialists, and learn more about manufacturing and career opportunities.

“We truly enjoyed hosting such an engaged group of students and providing them with an up-close look at the entire manufacturing process from product design to finished product,” says Jim Ritzema, Rogan’s President. “We hope doing so will help cultivate their interests in technology and encourage them to consider careers in manufacturing.”

The event was coordinated by Rogan staff and Tom Borst, St. Norbert School’s STEM/Technology curriculum instructor. Attending was a group of St. Norbert 7th & 8th grade students who are immersed in the school’s STEM curriculum. They were accompanied by Borst and St. Norbert math instructor Beverley Great.

The day began with an introductory presentation by Jim Ritzema and continued with a guided tour led by Jeff Ritzema, Operations Manager, of the stages of development of injected molded products. The students were introduced to a variety of materials, equipment and automated technology, along with members of the Rogan staff from various departments.

“This was an incredible experience for our students,” says Borst. “They enjoyed visiting a technology-driven manufacturing facility in their community, and the visit to Rogan enabled them to make a real-life connection between what they are studying in the classroom and how products are actually made. The trip to Rogan really inspired our students.”
